Laboratory Component Technician

Job Type:          Regular/Full-time

Qualifications:   High school graduate or equivalent required. Must be able to lift reagents and equipment up to 45 pounds. Must be accurate, efficient, show attention to detail, self-motivated and good organization skills. Ability to work in a team setting. Basic medical terminology a plus. Two (2) years college with science background preferred.

Job Summary:   Persons filling this position are responsible for all aspects of component preparation, including Quality Control and current Good Manufacturing Practices. Assist with temperature monitoring and alarm checks on all blood product storage units. Boxing of plasma and other products for manufacturing. Follow SOPs and training procedures. OSHA blood exposure classification I. Some overtime and weekends required.
