CENTRAL CALIFORNIA, CA – August is
one of the hottest months of the year, so for Valley residents
looking for a way to beat the heat… the 23rd Annual
ABC-30 / Baskin Robbins Pint for Pint Blood Drive came at the
right time.
In fact, a record 1,834 new and
returning donors signed up to give at this year’s life-saving
event which was held at donor centers in Fresno and Visalia AND
at Sierra Vista Mall in Clovis July 30th and 31st.
Giving blood is the right thing to do and
thanks to Baskin Robbins,
donors enjoyed cool
rewards like a coupon for a pint of their favorite ice cream and
a commemorative Pint for Pint T-shirt.
For donors who
missed the kick-off - there is still a chance to donate and
receive a Baskin Robbins Ice Cream coupon.
To get the FREE pint of ice cream, just donate at a Central
California Blood Center location in Fresno or Visalia OR at a

Blood donation takes less than one hour to
complete. Donors must be in good general health, weigh a minimum
of 110 pounds and be at least 17 years old (16 years old with
written parental consent). Senior citizens are encouraged to
donate, as there is no upper age limit. Donors should eat a good
meal and drink plenty of water within 4 hours prior to their
donation. Donors can give blood every eight weeks.
Photo ID and Social Security Number are required at donor
registration.

Blood
Center
is the sole provider of blood and blood products for the 31
hospitals in Fresno, Tulare, Madera, Kings and
Mariposa
Counties
and must collect between 5,000 to 6,000 pints of blood a month
to meet the needs of our Valley community.
