FRESNO, CA – The Fresno State Basketball Teams encourage the community to come out and give blood, save a life and have some great fun. Donors will receive special FSU athletics rewards when they give at any of the C.C.B.C. blood centers from Monday, January 9 through Saturday, January 14, or at the Save Mart Center from 1:00 pm. to 5:30 p.m. on January 14. The special Fresno State Athletics Department Bull Dog T-shirt awarded to all donors during this drive declares that “2012 Is The Year!” and is perfect for all sporting events throughout 2012.In addition, donors will each receive a coupon for six free wings from Buffalo Wild Wings and a coupon voucher to enjoy either the women’s or men’s basketball game on January 14 (redeem for one ticket at the Save Mart Center ticket office). As an added bonus, one lucky fan wearing the new FSU Blood Drive T-shirt to the Men’s January 14th basketball game, will win a Free Suite for a future (to be determined) game. The suite includes 18 tickets and four parking passes.

Blood donation takes less than one hour to complete. Donors must be in good general health, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be at least 17 years old (16 years old with written parental consent).  Senior citizens are encouraged to donate, as there is no upper age limit. Donors should eat a good meal and drink plenty of water within 4 hours prior to their donation. Donors can give blood every eight weeks. Photo ID and Social Security Number are required at donor registration.

The Central California Blood Center is the sole provider of blood and blood products for the 31 hospitals in Fresno, Tulare, Madera, Kings and Mariposa Counties and must collect between 5,000 to 6,000 pints of blood a month to meet the needs of our Valley community.
